Finally recovered

This is a yearly outing of a club called Local Group out of LA area

It was a 1000+ round trip took me about 10hrs to drive back. Went up through Vegas and drove through Nevada took 9hrs to get there. (takes me 4hrs to get to Vegas) Points of interest on the way (isn't any thing but desert) are 2 brothels. Drove back through CA. Seeing was ok. Friday night was about like the Grand Canyon. Saturday we had smoke in the air (must have been a fire way southwest of us on the west side of the next mts) seeing was more stable but for the smoke. (good east views) People were fun, nice group (I got invited because I met the club prez on Space.com) everyone shared views in the scopes. I would do it again (don't know if I would do it next month going to get the truck worked on) the group campground only costs $48. Dividing that up between everyone that showed up cost us $3.75 each. (they just divided it by the head count so I paid for both Ellen and me) Jim said that you can book the campground online. The campground is at 7400ft according to a GPS.

Campground is clean. No water at all in the campground, bring all you can.(about a gallon per person per day)(I took 8 and only brought back 2.5) Pit toilets bring some toilet paper. No trash barrels, you take your trash home (out) No ice or store of any kind (whoever drives to town makes an ice run) dirt road into campgrounds slightly rough

Rule of thumb on the green laser pointer "If you can see the milky way it can't be beat, otherwise there is too much light for it to be effective"
